SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is a nonlinear RPG focused on exploration, political intrigue, and character-driven storytelling. Players guide a mysterious protagonist through rival city-states and supernatural threats, using strategic turn-based combat, customizable party development, and branching narratives that shift with player choices.
The remaster sharpens the original’s impressionist watercolor visuals to higher resolution, rebuilds the UI for smoother play, and adds new events and playable characters that expand Sandail’s stories. New systems include Parameter Inheritance for deeper stat customization, enhanced boss encounters for tougher challenges, recruitable diggers who can return with expedition loot, plus quality-of-life additions like high-speed modes and New Game+.

Storyline

Our tale starts with two protagonists: Gustave, heir to an esteemed royal line, and Wil, a young man who makes his way in the world performing excavation work.
Though born in the same era, their circumstances could not be more different, and as Gustave is faced with strife and conflict between nations, Wil finds himself confronting a world-threatening calamity that lurks in the shadows.
Their stories gradually coalesce to form a single history.
