The year 20XX. Humans develop the technology to artificially awaken psychic powers.

Doctor Hokushin Kadoku developed this revolutionary technology, which is later dubbed the "Polaris System", and it changed life as we knew it. A ranking hierarchy based on one's powers, the appearance of new jobs...

The concept of the "Second Talent" of humans spreads all over the country like wildfire, and even crosses borders into the entire world, taking firm root in society.

The human race, which has gained a magnificent power, is on its way down a path of a happier future than ever before.

Or at least...it was supposed to be.
