Storyline
Centuries in the future, humanity and its fellow species launch the Andromeda Initiative, a daring one way voyage across the void to settle new home worlds in a distant galaxy. After a 600 year sleep aboard a colony ship, the young and untested recruit Ryder awakens in the Heleus Cluster to find the dream in tatters: the worlds scouted as paradises have turned hostile, the mission's colonists are stranded and desperate, and a warlike alien species called the Kett stands in the way. Thrust unexpectedly into the role of Pathfinder, the one charged with charting a future for their people, Ryder must explore uncharted planets, forge alliances with new races, and confront the Kett's sinister designs. Central to it all are the Remnant, silent machines left behind by a vanished civilization whose ancient technology may hold the key to survival. Aboard the starship Tempest, Ryder gathers a loyal crew to find humanity a new home.
