Carestia is a 2D side-scrolling action-platformer set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world where humanity has been driven from Earth by self-aware technology. Playing as a soldier of the New Day, a special force trained on an artificial planet, players are tasked with infiltrating an underground fortress to steal a powerful energy crystal and weaken Earth's defenses for a future reclamation. The game blends precise, fast-paced combat with thoughtful environmental puzzles built around an energy-wiring mechanic that challenges players to use items strategically to progress. Featuring boss battles, puzzle-driven level design, and character customization, Carestia balances reflex-based action with problem-solving in a focused, story-driven experience.
